Following the completion of this course, participants will be able to

  1. Perform or describe basic biomechanical components of snatch, clean & jerk, squat, bench press, deadlift, and basic gymnastics (hollow position, pull-up, push-up, dip) and cardiovascular activities (rowing, ski erg, jump rope)

  2. Identify 3 common movement-related risk factors associated with functional fitness participation

  3. Practice a video analysis of a squat, bench press and rowing form.

  4. Develop an evidence-informed rehabilitation plan that integrates load management, movement modification, and progressive strengthening strategies for a practice case.

  5. Modify functional fitness movements of squat, push-ups and jump rope to accommodate injury, pain, or performance limitations.

  6. Adapt functional fitness movements for special populations, including geriatric participants and people who have neurologic conditions.
